Transmission Council

The mandate of the Transmission Council (TC) is to serve as the voice of the transmission component of the Canadian electricity industry. Collectively, its members own most of the nation’s high-voltage transmission lines.

Transmission is vital infrastructure, critical to the security and economy of Canada. Across the country, systems are aging, and significant capital investment will be required to ensure the continued delivery of affordable, reliable, adequate power to consumers.

The TC works to ensure that federal policy in both Canada and the U.S. creates an environment that will foster the timely development and operation of transmission systems, with a full commitment to environmental, worker and public safety best practices.
