About Our Members

Dedicated to advocacy on the issues crucial to the success of the electricity industry, CEA offers members a broad range of innovative programs and services as well as effective, results-oriented federal government representation, both in Ottawa and increasingly in Washington. Through an ambitious member-focused agenda, CEA is able to meet the needs of its members.

What we Do

Presenting a convincing and coherent industry viewpoint to policy makers and regulators is the number one priority at CEA. Through the Association, members develop common industry positions, which help move agendas forward. Issues with global, national and regional ramifications are best tackled through collective action and not unified voice.

CEA’s advocacy work translates into time and cost savings, as well as peace of mind for members. By tracking, analyzing, developing, and implementing strategies to address the industry’s top issues, CEA is able to influence domestic policy-making and international negotiations. Members can therefore focus on their core business, confident their company’s interests in Ottawa and Washington are being accurately and effectively reflected through CEA. Our leadership role on policy matters benefits member companies by improving time management and by providing a broader and more informed perspective on the issues.

CEA has developed a reputation for developing and implementing constructive policy partnerships and solutions at the highest levels of federal and international processes. Through partnerships, alliances and direct representation, CEA has forged important links in developing practical solutions to complex challenges. Our sophisticated issues management and reporting system available on our Intranet site, gives members access to real-time information on the issues that matter to them. We also provide a critical networking process for enhancing member awareness and understanding of the risks and opportunities associated with these key issues.
