Winners Announced

 

TORONTO, Ontario – September 26, 2016.  Today, the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) and Plug'n Drive announced the winners of the 2016 Electric Vehicle Dealership Awards during EV Day at Queen’s Park in Toronto. Now in its third year, the Electric Vehicle Dealership Awards is the only program of its kind in Canada. It recognizes dealerships and utilities who are leaders in the promotion and/or sale of electric vehicles.

 

Tom Mitchell Electric Vehicle Leadership Award

PowerStream - Vaughan, Ontario

 

 

Performance Highlights:  As the winner of the first annual Tom Mitchell award, it is appropriate that PowerStream was also the first utility in North America to commission a vehicle to grid charging station, incorporating it into their office micro-grid alongside a solar carport. They have played an instrumental role in the development of charging infrastructure, including the installation of two Level 3 fast charging stations that are completely open to the public.

Leading Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Dealership Award

Campus Nissan - Victoria, British Columbia

 

Performance Highlights: At Campus Nissan, electric vehicles account for 11% of total sales as well as 10% of their annual marketing budget. They are also very actively involved in the community, sponsoring the Victoria EV Club, using EV couriers for all local deliveries and initiating a LEAF Day sponsorship of the local WHL Hockey Team. This is in addition to their participation in dozens of community events and tradeshows.

Leading Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Dealership Award

Bourgeois Chevrolet - Rawdon, Québec

Performance Highlights: Bourgeois Chevrolet actively promotes electric vehicles through social media, and participation in a number of community events, where they offer free test drives.  In addition to having an entire sales team trained to sell electric vehicles and a well-stocked EV inventory, the company also makes their charging stations available to the entire community. Fully half of their marketing budget is used in the promotion of electric vehicles, which has paid off as they now account for 41% of the company’s total sales.

Performance Highlights:  Green Rock E.V.S. is very active in their community in addition to participating in a number of conferences, trade shows, and meetings to promote and educate the public about EVs and their benefits. Green Rock E.V.S. is also a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association. As a 100% electric vehicle dealer Green Rock E.V.S. leads the pack in terms of promotion, sales and education.
