What is net zero?
Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time. That’s why Canada has committed to eliminate the harmful impact of the greenhouse gases that are causing climate change by 2050 to achieve “net zero” emissions. To do that, electricity will need to become Canada’s primary energy source.

Build it: The state of the Canadian electricity industry 2023
In order to reduce the impact of climate change, we need to turn away from carbon emitting energy, and use electricity as a primary power source. To do that we need to build capacity on our grid and make it almost completely non-emitting by 2035.
