Canadian Electricity Association Celebrates Occupational Health and Safety Excellence in Virtual Awards Ceremony

OTTAWA (November 23, 2020) Today, the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) announced the winners of its 2020 Occupational Health and Safety Awards. CEA members were recognized from coast-to-coast-to-coast for outstanding health and safety achievements. During these unprecedented times, utilities have continued to focus on health and safety priorities and remained dedicated to reducing incidents and ensuring member employees return home safely to their families.

“Every year, the Occupational Health and Safety awards celebrate a new standard created by, and for CEA members to continue to go above and beyond in employee safety. 2020 posed new health and safety challenges with the spread of COVID 19. Our members responded quickly to ensure the safety of their employees while keeping the lights on.” Noted Francis Bradley, President and CEO of the Canadian Electricity Association. “This is not just about impressive numbers,” commented Kerri Fournier, Manager of Occupational Health and Safety, “By sharing best practices and aligning strategies, the Canadian electricity sector continues to become safer every year.”

Annually, CEA tracks the safety record of its members and recognizes the best performers as part of the Occupational Health and Safety Awards program. The following electricity companies were recognized for excellence for the past year:
