Electricity Canada and The Smart Grid Innovation Network Canada Strengthen Ties

Electricity Canada and Smart Grid Innovation Network Canada have entered into a collaborative agreement to share knowledge and create a climate of cooperation that initiates a new direction for both organizations to better serve the professional needs of the members, industry, and community. This agreement will increase collaboration to benefit industry in Canada and support the federal and provincial governments to increase the clean generation in our energy mix.

In Canada and globally, there is an increasing focus on renewable energy playing a leading role in creating jobs while contributing to a diversified, resilient, low-carbon economy. Canada has many unique and untapped opportunities in smart energy, renewable energy, clean technology, ocean technology, electricity infrastructure, and sustainable buildings that can contribute to economic development and ensure a long-term resilient future for the country. Electricity Canada and SGIN share goals in this endeavour and the purpose of this agreement are to recognize opportunities for mutual support.
