“The best of us in the electricity sector”

Electricity Canada’s “Faces of the Industry” awards recognize six individuals who are reshaping the electricity sector.

Canada’s electricity sector is powered by talented people with a wide range of skills. Electricity Canada’s “Faces of the Industry” award recognizes those who exemplify the sector at its best. 

From a CEO who transformed a municipal utility into a national energy and infrastructure brand, to an engineer who developed an innovative solution to rehabilitate critical infrastructure in a sensitive environment… from a lineworker who led the restoration and rebuilding of an electricity system in a remote community, to an industry leader advancing the responsible use of artificial intelligence… from a leader strengthening supply chains during global disruption to an operations executive who guided teams through multiple wildfire seasons. This year’s Faces of the Industry award recipients reflect the breadth and depth of Canada’s electricity sector, and the very best of what it has to offer.   

The 2026 Faces of the Industry award recipients are:   

  • Rob Lister – President and CEO, Oakville Hydro for his four decades of leadership transforming Oakville Hydro into a national model for reliability, innovation, and customer service into a model for reliability, innovation and customer service, while advancing grid modernization and safety culture. 
  • Amanda Mattern – Vice President, Operations, ATCO Electric for her exceptional operational leadership in one of Canada’s most complex electricity systems through multiple devastating wildfire seasons. 
  • Gary Brunet – Senior Project Engineer, Dam Safety, TransAlta for his technical leadership that has redefined what is possible with aging hydro infrastructure, including refurbishing the Cascade hydro penstock at Banff National Park. 
  • Jodi Suski – Supervisor, Distribution, SaskPower for his courage and leadership during Saskatchewan’s devastating wildfires, and his work restoring and rebuilding power in one of north Saskatchewan’s most remote and operationally challenging districts. 
  • Maryna Korsei – Manager, Supply Chain Policy, Control & Reporting, BC Hydro in recognition of her work modernizing supply chain policy and risk management at scale at BC Hydro during some of the most disruptive years the electricity industry has faced. 
  • Rod Doornbosch – Sr Enterprise Architecture Manager IT/OT, FortisAlberta for his work becoming a national leader in responsible AI adoption for critical infrastructure, translating complex technology into practical, safe utility applications. 

Now in its third year, the Faces of the Industry awards recognize the people behind Canada’s electricity system — individuals whose leadership, expertise and dedication are driving innovation, strengthening reliability and supporting communities across the country. These are the people whose work often goes unseen, but whose impact is felt every day by Canadians.
