Electricity Canada’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) has been celebrating Canadian innovation and cutting-edge technology in the electricity sector since 2018. Five years after its launch, the Centre of Excellence has recognized a total of 90 innovative energy projects and initiatives from coast to coast to coast.
Whether it’s a virtual power plant providing residential customers with the ability to generate their own clean energy to augment the grid, the world’s first commercial-scale, post-combustion, carbon capture and storage unit, or one of Canada’s first Small Modular Reactors, all CoE projects are positively impacting the lives of Canadians and shaping our collective energy future.
The goal of the Centre of Excellence is to recognize, and celebrate transformational innovations in how electricity is produced, delivered, and consumed, and to highlight transformational progress in how electricity yields economic, social, and environmental benefits for society.
