This award recognizes individuals who proactively advocate for, champion, or initiate a meaningful safety-related change/improvement in one’s workplace and/or across the utility industry.
Unlike the Safety Innovation Award, which focuses on responses to major safety events, this award highlights leadership in individual(s) in fostering a safer work environment and culture, regardless of whether the change stems from an incident. It celebrates individuals who inspire or induce positive change in safety through new programs, philosophies, processes, or the introduction of impactful safety ideas, committees, or collaborations that improve work environments and/or the utility industry.
Eligibility:
- Open to employees at any level within the organization.
- Must have demonstrated a proactive approach to improving safety through advocacy, leadership, or initiating change.
- Nominees can be nominated by a colleague from their organization or an industry group (i.e., Standing Committee on Occupational and Electrical Safety).
- The change should have been initiated within the last five years and had a measurable influence or positive impact on workplace and/or utility safety culture.
